Reducing Our Environmental Impact
Our objective is to reduce the environmental impact of our business and promote the sustainability of the natural resources on which we depend.
We set goals for reducing the impact of our business on the environment in key areas using 2004 data as a baseline. Several years later, we can report significant progress against key performance targets.

We set goals for reducing the impact of our business on the environment in key areas using 2004 data as a baseline. Several years later, we can report significant progress against key performance targets.

We have evaluated the areas in which our operations affect the environment. In each of the following focus areas we are actively seeking ways to minimize our impact:

  • air emissions, specifically carbon dioxide
  • energy usage
  • water, including consumption and nutrient discharge in wastewater
  • solid waste generation

Performance goals and progress

We have completed site assessments for most of our facilities and established 2004 data as a baseline for our program. At that time, we established 2008 reduction goals.
